Project Background

What happens when there’s no component?

Even though a chip is widely used across multiple platforms and products at Tesla, there is currently no standardization or logic, leading to several pain points.

Research Process

What makes a successful chip?

One of the biggest challenges with this project was defining the standard and logic that can be applied across multiple platforms and products. Through research and synthesis, I was able to come up with goals that set the initial direction.

  1. The consumers know when to use chips vs. other components

  2. The consumers can make the chips they want without detaching instance

  3. The consumers know how to use the component properly

External Audit

I looked into public documentation from the popular design system to understand industry standards for architecture.

Internal Audit

I gathered existing use cases and interviewed the consumers directly to understand the component requirements.
